About us
A Diverse and Inclusive Community Serving GOD in Purity, Praise and Power.
The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Restoration Pavilion is part of the worldwide RCCG family. As a church, RCCG began in 1952 in Lagos, Nigeria, through the obedience and faith of its founder, Josiah Akindayomi. After leaving the Cherubim and Seraphim Church due to concerns about doctrinal practices, he established a small fellowship called the Glory of God Fellowship. With just nine members, the group quickly grew as reports of miracles spread. During this time, he received a divine revelation of the church’s name and a covenant promise that it would reach the ends of the earth.
A major turning point came with the arrival of Enoch Adejare Adeboye in 1973, a young university lecturer who joined the church and was later ordained as a pastor in 1975. Before his passing in 1980, Akindayomi revealed that Adeboye would succeed him. Later that year, Adeboye officially became the General Overseer, ushering in a new era of rapid growth and global expansion.
From the early 1980s, RCCG experienced remarkable growth, expanding across Nigeria, into other African nations, Europe, and beyond. A key feature of its ministry is the Holy Ghost Service, an all-night monthly gathering known for prayer, miracles, and drawing millions of worshippers.
RCCG’s presence in North America began on April 5, 1991, with the establishment of its first parish in Detroit, Michigan, under the mentorship of Pastor Adeboye. This marked the beginning of significant expansion across the United States and Canada.
Today, RCCG North America has grown to over 800 parishes across major cities in the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean.
RCCG Restoration Pavilion is one of these parishes, contributing to the church’s mission and impact in the region.
From humble beginnings in Lagos to a global movement, RCCG continues to fulfill its founding vision of spreading the message of faith, holiness, and the power of God to the ends of the earth.

BELIEFS THAT UNITE US
We believe that the Bible is “God’s Word”. The truths revealed in it did not have their origin with men, but with God. The Holy Spirit inspired the human authors of the Bible. We therefore believe that the bible is without error, completely true, relevant and an up-to-date book.
We receive the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament as eternal, authoritative, coherent, complete and all sufficient, and the only infallible rule of faith. Its message is intended primarily for the human race. It is expressed in words and in terms, which human beings can understand. It’s central theme and purpose is the salvation of man.
