Introduction

We are all building something in life: careers, relationships, academic pathways, businesses and ministries. The question is therefore not whether we are building, but what foundation we are building on. A building is only as strong as its foundation. Likewise, the foundation of our lives determines our stability, strength, and endurance when challenges come.

The foundation is the most critical part of any structure, even though it is often unseen.

Key Truth:
The foundation determines the outcome of our lives.

Just as a house built on rock stands firm during storms, a life built on Jesus Christ remains secure through trials and difficulties.

  • 1 Peter 4:12 – Trials should not surprise believers.
  • Mark 4:35 – Storms come to everyone.
  • Job 13:15 – Faith remains steadfast even in suffering.
  • 2 Timothy 4:7 – Finish the race faithfully.

Application: Ask yourself:

  • What is my life built upon?
  • Am I relying on Christ or on temporary things?
  • Will my foundation hold when difficulties come?

Key Lesson

Storms reveal foundations.

Success, talent, education, relationships, and possessions may appear strong, but only a life founded on Christ can withstand every storm.

Build on the Rock, Jesus Christ.
